Apprenticeship hours tracker

Log your on-the-job and in-school hours and see your progress toward your trade's total.

Updated: Oct 2026.

For learning only. Check your code book. These calculators are study aids, not design tools. Always follow the code that applies where you work, the manufacturer's instructions and your supervisor. Nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else. The hours tracker saves your entries only in this browser, using local storage on this device. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, they're gone, so export a CSV now and then.

Your official hours are the ones your employer reports and your apprenticeship authority records. Use this as your own backup log. Find your trade's total on our trade pages (from the Ellis Chart).

Tips for keeping hours

  • Keep your official logbook or online record up to date as well; this tracker doesn't replace it.
  • Write down the employer, dates and the kinds of work you did. If you ever need to prove experience as a trade qualifier, that detail helps (see the challenge route).
  • Ask your apprenticeship authority how it counts hours, since rules vary by province and territory.
